CPU Advice: The 720QM is a nice choice is you
would describe your laptop use as business or general use. The
820QM is your best choice by far if you describe yourself as a
gamer, power user, heavy in to anything Multi-Media (Video and
audio playback video or audio editing). Keep in mind that if you
game even a little your needs are the same as someone who games
a lot. If you are trying to save money by going with the 720QM
then ask yourself how important your game performance is. Very
important, regardless of how often, then choose the 820QM. If in
doubt, always go with the 820QM.

RAM Advice: While Windows 7 can "operate" of
2GB of RAM that does not mean it is running as well as it was
designed to run. Windows 7 makes much better use of RAM than its
predecessors. This means the more RAM you buy the better, faster
or more future proof you will be. Your specific RAM needs can
vary widely but with the new way W7manages RAM there is little
reason now to worry about having too much RAM. In general,
M-Tech feels nobody should be using less than 4GB of RAM.

Video Controller:

ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD
5650 Graphics with 1GB GDDR3 Video Memory PCIe*2.0 x 8
Microsoft® DirectX® 11
compatible HDCP supported GPU Advice:
When choosing a laptop the video card can be all important or of
very little concern. In any event the video card is always a vital
consideration, even if you don't need a powerful graphics processor
unit. How so? many of our laptops shore many of the same features,
yet you see a fairly significant price difference from one model to
another. The reason is the video card. Considerable money can be
saved by making sure you are not buying too much video card for your
needs, or worse yet buying too little. How sad to have a high
quality laptop that doesn't fulfill your needs because of selecting
the wrong video card. You can always call M-tech and ask them to
help you make sure you have the correct card for your needs.
The video card in this particular model is sufficient for most
gaming needs. Yet not quite enough if you are deadly
serious about gaming. For your serious gaming needs look to
the M8700 gaming laptop,
M8600 gaming laptop, M9800 extreme
gaming laptop and D9F, the fastest
laptop in the world. If you do not have any gaming needs then
perhaps this is more model than you need. Look at the
M7700 or
M7650 (both are crazy
fast laptops) if you need a fast laptop but have no gaming plans. |

Built-In 2.5" SATA Hard Disk Drive

Disk Drive Advice: Aside from RAM nothing has a
greater impact on your laptop performance than the disk drive.
Those with large files, should go with a hard disk drive. If you
have a huge database to search through or value fast file access
over file transfer speed, then you should look to a good Solid
State Drive. Always remember, one is not better than another.
each is a different tool. Choose wisely. You can always discuss
your needs with a M-Tech advisor, they can help you choose the
best for your needs. In any event, don't think of your drive as
just storage. Your RAM is fed from the drive. So really your
laptop is no faster than your hard rive or Solid sate Drive.
Choosing the correct drive is CRITICAL if you want the fastest
laptop for your money.
